Drinking gin in South Africa will never be the same again

Jorgensen's Gin

An exception-to-the-rule gin

Every now and then a product comes along that makes me think ‘‘Wow! This is just perfect!” The problem being that this seems to happen every time Roger Jorgensen releases a new product from Jorgensen’s Distillery in Wellington and so this has occurred 5 times in the last 8 months!

We have just received our first load of Jorgensen’s Gin and it took just one sip to fall in love. Roger has once again created a product that is outstanding and this gin is going to bring great joy to all who are lucky enough to enjoy it! Continue reading

Bringing Camelthorn beers to you!

GFWS

A very full stand for beer lovers

It was quite a hectic couple of weeks in the World Focus offices. When you have two arms to the business, the distribution and bulk-breaking that we do during the week getting our products into stores around the Western Cape, and our eventing side where we take products to events and festivals and educate the public about beautiful new products that are available through the Beer Garden. Everson’s Cider, a Mad-Hatter & Green Faeries

E & WF

Welcome to the family!

Last night we popped into the the Wine Affair at the V&A Waterfront to visit the Everson’s Cider stand, and followed that by collecting some stock from the Jorgensen’s Distillery stand at the Taste of Cape Town festival in Green Point. Not a bad way to spend an evening!

Everson's Cider

Look out for this label!

Our main reason for excitement was that we were able to meet up with William, Garda & Glynis from Everson’s to get our contract formalised and to be able to raise a toast to a future of working together.

Everson’s Cider fits in so nicely with all our other beautiful products, and we’re especially proud to have another superb quality, hand-crafted South African beverage to offer our clients. And there isn’t a more wonderful way of being able to say “Cheers!” to the future than with the product in hand! Continue reading

Tasting tantalizers @ Wasabi

Cooler box

A very cool cooler box

When we are on the road we are always looking to get our products into new venues, and sometimes this means pounding the pavements and trying to get to see the right people many times before having success. And then on occasion a meeting evolves which brings out the passion and love on all sides of the table and a delightful experience that was appreciated by all.

Wasabi Asian Restaurant

Treat your tastebuds

This was the case with Wasabi Asian Restaurant in Constantia Village, where we visit Jeremy at Riedel Aroma weekly to ensure his excellent store is always well stocked with our products. I had been into this exciting restaurant a number of times before I cornered MD Warren Fischer at the bar and introduced him to our catalogue.

“We need to do a tasting,” Warren said. “You bring the beer and I’ll provide the food because I’m looking for good beer.” Continue reading

Ommiberg and other March events

Ommiberg Fest

Party around the Rock

This weekend sees the Ommiberg Round the Rock Festival happening in Paarl. It’s Pick n Pay Argus Cycle Tour weekend and so there are going to be loads of visitors driving around the Mother City and surrounds and so we are looking forward to multitudes of wide-eyed, eager tourists arriving at the Laborie Lazy Days Market.

Laborie, Paarl

A good place to chill

Of course Laborie Wine Estate is a participating estate and apart from all the other activities they have planned, our market times have been extended for Saturday from 09h00 – 17h00. More time to sell more beer, spirits & liqueurs by educating people and opening their minds to some of the beautiful flavours and textures available. Why drink it just because your daddy did? Field of Dreams Absinthe tonight

Absinthe

The Green Fairy

Cape Town is abuzz with excitement as Jorgensen’s Distillery launches their Field of Dreams Absinthe tonight at Grand Daddy Hotels Trailer Park. Twitter is green with envy every time the term #greendreamsinafieldofairstreams is mentioned, because there is only so much space between the green fairies!

We have been distributing Field of Dreams for a couple of weeks and although this is a super premium product, there has been lots of interest in it – all this without even having had the opportunity of tasting la fée verte (the Green Fairy). Continue reading

SA flag

Alive with possibilities

To all our friends in the trade we’d like to not only wish you a wonderful 2011 but also hope that it’ll be a year that will see everyone have many good times, happy times and successful times. A new year is always filled with hope, and though we won’t be hosting anything as major as last years FIFA Soccer World Cup, we’re looking forward to business booming just because South Africa is a place where everything can happen!

We’ll be looking forward to looking after our clients in the formal trade; appearing at markets, fairs & festivals; and getting more and more people to try our exciting products instead of just going with what they know. Continue reading
