Everson’s Cider

Everson's Cider

Pure, fresh & real

William Everson, a garagiste winemaker from Klipkop, in Grabouw, began to make Everson’s Cider in addition to his range of wines in 2009, initially under the direction of a local wine master in Elgin.

The 2009 Range, a pale dry natural apple cider, is a mix of five different apples and was crushed together in May 2009. The juice was settled and racked. Fermentation took place in 1100 litre cooled stainless steel tanks, with a French cider yeast.

Hand crafted

After fermentation the apple wine was aged with oak staves for a few months, racked and filtered, then bottled under CO2 pressure to make it a cider. The taste is light and dry, refreshing and with a good apple aroma and a soft acidity makes it easy drinkable. It will keep for up to 12 months in the bottle. Analysis: 8 % Alc.

The company, Everson’s Cider, was then formed in September 2010, the branding was revamped with new labels and marketing material and the production grew to accommodate the growing demand for Everson’s Cider.
