The Beer Garden

It’s taken us a while to recover from last weekend’s Getaway Show held at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West, but business waits for no man (or woman) and so, we’ve been running Into The Trade again for the last few days!

There’s been mixed reaction online as to how the show was received with some saying that there wasn’t enough food variety and the queue’s into the venue being too long, but we have only heard great things about our stand which we shared with Napier Brewery. As Craig Bradnick mentioned on Twitter, “@TheBeerGardenSA Best part of @GetawayShow was your stand. Rest of show was a disappointment.” That makes us happy!

Weekend of events not to miss!

We didn’t think it could get much busier than last weekend’s We Love Real Beer Summer Craft Beer Festival, but that was before this weekend came along! If it is not the perfect weekend to enjoy a couple of excellent real beers across the peninsula, then there never was one!

This weekend we have several teams that will be serving our wonderful beers at a whole lot of exciting events!

Getaway at Lourensford

Jamie, Lenny & I will be setting up a beer tent at the Getaway Show at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West. It’ll run from Friday to Sunday, and we are looking forward to a great crowd of outdoor enthusiasts and people who enjoy the good things in life. Opening times are Friday 25 March 2011: 11am-7pm, Saturday 26 March 2011: 9am-7pm, Sunday 27 March 2011: 9am- 5pm.

Sunday 20 March saw the second We Love Real Beer Summer Craft Beer Fest 2011 at the Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock and the first that we have been involved with. We had heard so much about it and were very keen to get some of our range of beers into the festival for Cape Town to enjoy – and we were not disappointed!

The moment the gates opened at 12h00 there was a rush into the venue and it was game on! Beer lovers streamed in and within 10 minutes, we were serving beers like there had been a warning that Sunday was the last day of the world and everyone had better enjoy it! But it was Belgium’s Liefmans Fruitesse, or ‘Cherry Beer‘ as it was being called, that caused the ladies to stampede our stand!

Party around the Rock

This weekend sees the Ommiberg Round the Rock Festival happening in Paarl. It’s Pick n Pay Argus Cycle Tour weekend and so there are going to be loads of visitors driving around the Mother City and surrounds and so we are looking forward to multitudes of wide-eyed, eager tourists arriving at the Laborie Lazy Days Market.

A good place to chill

Of course Laborie Wine Estate is a participating estate and apart from all the other activities they have planned, our market times have been extended for Saturday from 09h00 – 17h00. More time to sell more beer, spirits & liqueurs by educating people and opening their minds to some of the beautiful flavours and textures available. Why drink it just because your daddy did?

It’s been a busy week with not much time for putting fingertips to keyboard, but we’re getting ready for a wonderful busy weekend!

We will be appearing at 4 venues this weekend providing insight & tastings to some beautiful products that’ll make your day!
